Summer course: Innovation in security applied to the protection of digital identity

Innovation in security applied to the protection of digital identity is the suggestive title of the summer course, from 6 to 8 July, placed in the Campus de Aranjuez from the University Rey Juan Carlos (URJC). This course is part of the 16th edition of the Summer Courses of the Fundación Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, organized by the Research Center for Technological Risk Management (CIGTR in Spanish) and sponsored by BBVA since 2011.

The assembly hall of the Campus de Aranjuez will be the scenario of this course, which will receive important experts such as Sabah Jassim, maths teacher at the University of Buckingham, specialized in processing images and in biometrics, who will speak about Steganography and biometric cryptosystems for mutual authentication in the exchange of passwords.

Biometrics, very popular nowadays, will be also approached on another lecture, the one by Enrique Cabello, teacher of URJC, director of the Computing and Statistic Department and coordinator of the Research Group over Facial Recognition and Artificial Vision. Another researcher from URJC, Massimiliano Zanin, will talk about Theory of networks and fraud detection.

From the University of Vigo, Juan Troncoso-Pastoriza will talk about Safe processing of signals in the cloud: Enabling technologies for the preservation of privacy in the cloud in the multimedia processing. There will be also another remarkable interventions from business world: Shmulik Regev, head of Innovation in Security at IBM, will offer a very interesting lecture: Chronicle of a Breach Foretold. Besides, Sean Gaines, director of International Projects at Vicomtech, will offer a practical case of I+D+i technological transference.  

On the first day, Monday 6 July, in the afternoon some senior positions will take part in a round table about Innovate in a global and digital market against the national and international regulation. It will be moderated by Borja Larrumbide, IT Risk Institucional Affairs responsible at BBVA and we'll have the participation of Idoia Mateo from Banco Santander, José María Anguiano from Garribues, Andreu Bravo from Gas Natural Fenosa, Pablo García Mexía from Ashurt and Alberto Partida.    

Tuesday 7th in the afternoon will be celebrated the Startups Space.

All the university students who assist to this 3 day course will validate this activity in return for 1 ECTS credit.
